crimson and grover
From Page Six:
March 9, 2005 -- HARVARD faculty members are still debating whether to give a vote of "no confidence" to embattled university president Lawrence Summers — but at least Matt Damon is in his corner. Damon, who dropped out of Harvard 12 credits short of graduation, tells today's New York Observer, "I've heard whisperings that his remarks were taken out of context. I will say that when you're trying to encourage 18-year-old kids to exercise freedom of thought, it can be dangerous to remove [Summers] for doing just that." The Harvard honcho has been under fire since he opined that women may be less likely to thrive in the field of science due to innate gender differences.
Does Matt Damon know he is a total fucking idiot? First of all, who drops out of college 12 credits short of graduation? Second, he is defending Summer's right to "exercise freedom of thought" in such a way that not only defends Summer's inane comments about women and science, but then frames it so that if, as the president of Harvard, he is held to some kind of standard where this is unacceptable, that the people who vote him off the island are then hypocrits. Matt Damon, you are a total fucking idiot.
